Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence startup, xAI, has announced that the Grok-2 chatbot is now available for free to all users of the X social network. According to a report from the Reuters news agency, this information was shared in a message from the developers.
“As always, Premium and Premium+ users will receive higher usage limits and will be the first to access any new features in the future,” xAI stated in their announcement. The company also confirmed that the Grok-2 chatbot has been undergoing testing over the past few weeks.
From Beta to Broader Access
The beta version of Grok-2 was initially introduced in August of this year. During its launch phase, the algorithm was integrated into the X social network to generate images based on text descriptions. However, access was limited to paid Premium and Premium+ subscribers.
In addition to its use on the X platform, Grok-2 was also evaluated in the LMSYS benchmark, a widely recognized testing framework. The chatbot achieved notable results, ranking among the top five algorithms.
Future Features and Updates
While Grok-2 is now accessible to all X users, Premium and Premium+ subscribers continue to enjoy enhanced usage limits and early access to new features, notes NIX Solutions. This ensures that loyal users of the platform still receive added value.
As xAI continues to develop its AI technology, we’ll keep you updated on future improvements and integrations. Stay tuned for further announcements from the company about upcoming features or enhancements to Grok-2.
