Microsoft has announced Dragon Copilot, an AI assistant designed to support healthcare professionals by handling administrative tasks. The company emphasizes that this is not just a claim but a fact backed by data.
AI-Powered Documentation and Assistance
Dragon Copilot integrates technologies from Dragon Medical One, which focuses on voice notes and medical records, and DAX Copilot, which automates medical documentation. Both were developed by Nuance, a company Microsoft acquired in 2021.
The AI assistant can process natural language voice commands and perform key functions, including real-time medical record creation, appointment summaries, and information retrieval from trusted sources. It also responds to doctors’ queries, helping streamline their workflow.
Impact on Healthcare and Availability
According to a Microsoft study, 70% of doctors who have adopted AI tools report reduced burnout and fatigue. Additionally, 93% of surveyed patients noted an improved experience during medical appointments with AI-assisted professionals.
Dragon Copilot will be available as a mobile app and a web version for PCs, adds NIX Solutions. The service is set to launch in May 2025 in the US and Canada, with a later rollout in Europe. Microsoft has not yet disclosed the subscription cost, yet we’ll keep you updated as more details become available.
