Google is bringing its “Help me write” feature to the web version of Gmail. This tool, powered by the Gemini neural network, enables users to generate emails using an AI assistant. Similar to the mobile version, the feature will be suggested when users open an empty Gmail draft.
Availability and Subscription Details
Initially, the “Help me write” feature is accessible to Google One AI Premium subscribers and users with Gemini access through Workspace. Beyond generating drafts, the tool offers suggestions on refining email content, including guidance on shortening messages or enhancing tone.
New Polish Feature and Upcoming Changes
Google has also introduced a shortcut to the “polish” option, a component of the “Help me write” toolkit. This shortcut becomes available in drafts containing more than 12 words. In the web version, users can activate it by clicking the shortcut or pressing Ctrl + H. On mobile, the “polish” option replaces the previous “Improve my draft” shortcut, with automatic adjustments applied without swiping, notes NIX Solutions.
Following these updates, users will still have the option to fine-tune their emails using additional AI tools.
These new features will be rolled out gradually, so it may take some time before all Gmail users gain access. We’ll keep you updated as more users receive the updates.
