After six beta versions and a longer-than-expected testing phase, Samsung has suddenly paused the global rollout of the One UI 7.0 update. A serious bug was discovered in the version for South Korean Galaxy S24 devices, prompting the company to suspend distribution.
Rollout Suspended Worldwide After Critical Bug
According to 9to5Google, referencing a post on X by UniverseIce, Samsung has temporarily halted the update across all countries, including China. The pause came just days after the company began distributing Android 15 to supported models. The mass release officially began on April 10, but progress stalled shortly afterward over the weekend.
Reports suggest that the issue may be connected to Galaxy S24 models powered by the Exynos 2400 processor. Several users have claimed that the OTA (Over-the-Air) update files were completely pulled from Samsung’s servers, possibly indicating the severity of the problem. Android Authority also mentioned this, reinforcing the likelihood of a significant software issue.
Interestingly, although initial attention focused on Exynos-powered models, it appears that Snapdragon variants are also affected. The update for U.S. versions of the Galaxy S24, Z Fold, and Z Flip 6 has reportedly been paused as well, with OTA files removed from official servers.
Future Unclear, Fix Expected Soon
At this point, it remains uncertain how the situation will affect devices that already received the update in the early stages of rollout. Samsung has not clarified whether these devices will receive a rollback or simply wait for a patch. However, a hotfix is expected to arrive in the coming days to address the most pressing issues.
The company has yet to make an official statement regarding when the update process will resume, notes NIX Solutions. For now, Samsung appears to be working behind the scenes to resolve the current problems before restarting the global release.
